Popcorn

Yes! Popcorn--All Ways

Who doesn't like popcorn. Warm, fluffy little gems of fabulous scented, light-as-air, classic kernels seasoned every which way! It's the fun, fall challenge to see what outrageous and delicious combinations you can come up with beyond what we will recommend here. Or, you could just resort to one of any great standards. Number one is our old, hippy fave: a spritz of Braggs liquid aminos and lots of nutritional yeast flakes, with maybe a little bit of ghee if buttered popcorn is your thing. Imagination is key, and taste buds rule in this arena.

Check out our sweet and savory suggestions. But, just for a hint, how 'bout Everything popcorn, or Go Nuts popcorn balls for Halloween. BTW, the heirloom, red popcorn from Rancho Gordo is so pretty and really delicious.

Recipe Suggestions

Go Nuts Popcorn Balls: popcorn with toasted pumpkin seeds, black and white sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, and toasted almonds rolled into sticky delights with brown rice syrup.

Everything Popcorn: popcorn with ghee, olive oil, or butter combined with everything bagel spice. It's a yum!

Hippy Dippy Popcorn Standard: popcorn with a spritz of Braggs liquid aminos and nutritional yeast flakes, and if desired, a drizzle of olive oil, ghee, or melted butter. A seventies fav.

Popcorn and Parm: Another great standard that's simple. If you want to be truly decadent, you could add butter, olive oil or ghee. Or go even further over the edge and add additional sharp cheeses.

Popcorn Blues: Never a personal favorite, but beautiful, nonetheless, popcorn sprinkled with spirulina.

Mushroom Popcorn:  If you are a fungifile, popcorn with porcini or shitake powder might be your thing. Why not boost your immunity and your fun by adding any of the many power mushrooms to your popcorn like reishi, cordyceps, maitake, chaga, or lions mane.

You can stovetop pop. You can microwave pop. You can air pop. You can pop over an open campfire. The rest is up to your imagination!
