Don't Go Back to Sleep

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth
across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.

Everyone is looking for the pandemic to end. Yearning for an end to suffering, limitation, and separation with a large list of things we would love to resume. But does resuming your life include a real reset or simply going back to sleep?

Can you have a reset that includes the incorporation of meaningful insights and moments gleaned and experienced from this unprecedented time? Could simplicity be your new high? Could going slower be more interesting? Would accruing less be a road to freedom?

As creatures of habit, it is amazing how quickly we are able to...

Mad for Spring Fruit Medley

The day's light is lengthening. We have sprung forward. The coming season is arriving and bringing with it that anticipatory, upwelling of energy. The possibility of renewal is in the signs of the crocus and the narcissus blooming above the thaw and in the budding brightness of new leaves. What a great time to dive into a different morning mix, or anytime treat.

I have truly gone mad for blending multiple kinds of sweet-tart berries now returning to our farmer's markets mixed with the winter crunch and pucker of a good Granny Smith. It's the perfect winter-spring cusp combination in this fabulous fruit salad. There is also the flavor and texture contrast of pecans and dried tart Montmorency cherries, and even a healthy fat option to round out this beautiful indulgence. Then there's a sweet-tart drizzle to send you over the top.

Here's hoping for a hint of spring in your life, and that you too will go crazy for this insanely delicious medley brimming over in your favorite bowl.
